Founder
of a pre-eminent training company, Wilson Learning Corporation,
Larry Wilson created programs that helped
Fortune 500 companies worldwide achieve higher levels
of performance through people. In 1982 he sold his share
of Minnesota-based WLC in order to pursue an emerging
vision of change management and leadership development,
and he founded Pecos River Learning Center in 1985, based
in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pecos River itself became a “human
resource brand” signifying growth, leadership, and
change management for thousands of employees, managers,
and top leaders from some of the largest companies in
the world. Thirteen years later, Larry sold his ownership
in Pecos River to Aon Consulting—and he is again
free to pursue a solo career dedicated to the joy of helping
people in organizations release their spirits by releasing
their courage and creativity.
Wilson
Learning pioneered work in translating theories of psychology
to powerful people skills that help fulfill human potential
in business relationships. Pecos River created a rich
environment for business leaders, managers, and work teams
to work (and play) to create totally unique systems to
embrace change in ways that enhance improved business
results. These innovative businesses grew from Larry’s
early people experiences selling life insurance. By age
29 he had become the youngest lifetime member of the Million
Dollar Round Table, a benchmark achievement for the life
insurance field.
Larry
Wilson has been recognized with many awards including:
Speakers Hall of Fame; Senior Fellow and Alumni of the
Year at the University of Minnesota; and Ambassador of
Free Enterprise by the International Sales and Marketing
Executives.
Today,
Larry spends high-impact time consulting with senior leadership
teams from companies such as American Express, General
Motors, Du Pont, Citibank, Kraft, Ernst & Young, and
British Airways. Larry speaks to associations and corporations
on a regular basis. He has authored more than five books
and numerous articles, and has himself been the subject
of many features on entrepreneurial leadership.
